FAQ

What Makes AcuComp® unique?

  • AcuComp® is a Registered Mark by the United States Patent and Trademark Office providing federal pre-emptive rights to its use throughout the United States.
  • An independent audit performed over a five year period by a State Insurance Department proved that the AcuComp® system lowers reserves an average of  30% and experience modifiers an average of 27 points, with a corresponding reduction in workers’ compensation premiums.
  • AcuComp® is Web-based, offering our licensees 24/7, real time access to their client’s workers’ compensation claims information and reports.
  • The system is limitless and designed to fit either single or multiple locations and users.
  • All reports can be completely customized once a logo is provided.
  • The flow of information between AcuComp®, you and your clients is seamless.
  • EXCLUSIVITY - The number of site licenses available will be limited to less than 1% of all eligible independent distributors and insurance agencies.

Why do insurance agencies purchase an AcuComp® site license?

  • AcuComp® will permanently separate licensees from all others. No one, except our site licensees have the ability to prove exactly what is being done for each insured on each workers’ compensation claim, and do so in real time, 24/7. Our licensees can walk into any business office, log in and SHOW that insured their actual claim information and reserve reductions.
  • AcuComp® licensees have found that they are able to improve and maintain a higher level of customer service and client retention with an ease that has not been previously available.
  • Licensees also find that they are able to begin generating revenue, more effectively, efficiently and in a much shorter time frame than ever before. Just demonstrating the program can shorten selling cycles from days, weeks or months, to minutes.
  • Making this system available to you also helps attract new sales people to your firm. When they see it and understand it, producers will want to use it.

Why do independent business people purchase an AcuComp® site license?

  • Fail safe system to build their own business.
  • Financial security.
  • Proven track record.
  • Residual income.
  • Operate nationwide from home.
  • Full or part time flexibility.
  • Turnkey training, materials, operational support, all-inclusive site license.

How much does AcuComp® cost?

  • There are a multitude of factors that are used to develop the AcuComp® fee structure.
  • These factors are outlined in our operations manual.

Do you split premium savings with the insured?

No. Information relating to improprieties relative to Workers’ Compensation premium promulgation methodology are given to you. You decide what action is necessary, if any.
We are NOT a contingency firm and believe that the insureds savings belong to them.

Can you change experience modifiers yourself?

NO. ONLY insurance carriers are empowered to file unit statistical plan corrections with the appropriate rating bureaus, which may lower experience modifiers. Carriers report to the rating bureaus in their jurisdiction, but the rating bureaus themselves are powerless to make changes to the experience modifier unless errors are reported by the Carrier.  AcuComp’s® auditing of claim files and the experience modification rate calculation worksheets often uncover errors. Corrections are pursued with the carrier. Revisions are followed until confirmation is received that they have been updated correctly by the various rating bureaus.

Can this system be replicated “in house”?

Yes, however, in all probability it simply does not make good business sense to attempt to do so. For any business to try to replicate this system, to properly monitor, quantify and report the results is difficult at best.  The entire process is exceptionally labor intensive and cost prohibitive. Once there is an understanding of the amount of staffing, office space utilization, data organization and training to make it work effectively and efficiently, most businesses choose to “outsource” as a simple matter of economics. The return on investment is enormous, especially when the system is utilized correctly and to its fullest extent.

Is AcuComp® a “Mod Chop Shop”?

NO. “Contingency” firms look for experience modification mistakes retroactively and then split the savings.  AcuComp®is both retrospective and prospective, which results in a permanent drop in an experience modification averaging 28.5 points over time.  As long as an insured remains with the program experience modifiers will stay at their lowest possible point.

Why don’t insurance companies do what we do?

They CANNOT for two reasons:

  • The adjusters must set reserves for ultimate settlement as opposed to what can be supported by claim file documents at Unit Statistical plan filing time.
  • The adjusters do not have the policy expiration dates for the past four years.

Therefore, they have no way of, nor reason for knowing the unit statistical plan filing dates and rating periods.

How do I prove to the skeptic that we can really change reserves an average of 30% and lower experience modifiers an average of 28.5 points over time with corresponding reductions in premium?

Show prospects the “online demonstration”.  The NIAS cumulative activity report should be of particular interest, as it shows actual changes in reserves and experience modifiers over the past 10 years.  Seeing is believing.
